Van Hipp - US Army Veteran with Strategic Consulting Experience
Since 1995, Van Hipp has been chairman of American Defense International, Inc. (ADI) and has provided strategic counseling and support in areas such as government relations, contract securing, and marketing technologies. His team meets clients' needs in security, defense, medical, and energy. A prominent voice in his field, Van Hipp has authored articles such as “Increased Cyber Security Threat Represents Opportunity for International Defense Cooperation.”
Van Hipp completed his bachelor’s degree in economics at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and received the National Young Alumnus of the Year Award. He subsequently earned a JD at the University of South Carolina School of Law. As a Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army in the early 1990s, he oversaw reserve forces’ mobilization as part of Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He is a Bronze Star Medal recipient, and also earned him the Legion de Lafayette from the National Guard Association.
Mr. Hipp has also served as Principal Deputy General Counsel of the US Navy and handled legal affairs. He holds a position with Charleston Southern University’s Board of Visitors. His volunteer work supporting cancer research earned him the Delta State University Elliott Symposium’s Real Hero Award in 2007.
